We take our responsibility to protect your privacy very seriously. That’s why we promise to never release your personal information to any third party company for their mailing or marketing purposes when you make a purchase on our website, or sign-up for teapigs marketing.

 

We will automatically unsubscribe you from all marketing communication if we haven’t seen any engagement from you for 16 months. You can unsubscribe from our mailing list by clicking the unsubscribe link in any of our marketing emails, or you can send us an email at info@teapigs.co.uk and we'll get your unsubscribe request processed straightaway.

 

From time to time we will run competitions in partnership with a third party – always fully vetted by us to ensure they fit with our brand and would be of interest to you, our customers – in this circumstance we will offer you the opportunity to opt-in to that specific third party’s marketing. This is the only circumstance where this option will be available and it’s just that – an option.

 

When you shop on our website we collect information relevant to your purchase. This allows us to send your order, contact you in relation to your order (for example if your order is lost, an item is out of stock, payment hasn’t cleared or just to let you know that we’ve saved your basket for you etc.) and to pass your payment information onto our processing partners PayPal and SagePay. All of this information is stored securely and we comply with all applicable data protection and consumer legislation.

 

We store information in your account if you choose the “save my card details” option to allow this on your way through the checkout. This information (name, address, phone number, email address, payment information) is stored to allow an easier checkout process for you when you place future orders via the “express pay” feature.

 

We use a third-party platform provided by DotDigital to send emails to subscribers of our mailing list. The emails that we send may contain dynamic elements such as images, that may be used to ascertain:

  • If the email was opened and when
  • Type of device used
  • Type of operating system used
  • Type of browser used
  • The screen resolution
  • IP address

We use this information to help us build better content and digital experiences for users. We also use this information to keep our mailing list up to date so that where users haven’t opened any of our emails for over 16 months, they are automatically removed from our mailing list. We only use affirmative opt-in options. You will have to explicitly agree to receive marketing, we will never use confusing language. Your preferences are a “no” to all marketing by default, so we’ll only add you to our marketing list if you explicitly tell us that you’d like to be on it either via tick box, using our mailing list sign-up form or by getting in touch.

 

If you choose to self-service order edits at the end of checkout, Order Editing will receive a copy of your order to facilitate the changes. Your order information is automatically deleted 24 hours after initiating the edit.

 

You may contact us at any time to request a copy of all data and information we hold on you as a customer. You may also contact us to amend or update your details at any time by using our contact form. You can amend your personal account details by visiting the ‘your account’ page on the website.

 

You have a right to be forgotten and as such we’re able to remove all of your personal information from our records. We can’t remove your orders, items purchased and values as we require these for historical accounting, but your personal affiliation with these orders will be anonymised and all of your personal information would no longer be held by us.

 

We may process your personal information for our legitimate business interests. ‘Legitimate Interests’ means the interests of our company in conducting and managing our business to enable us to give you the best service/products and the best and most secure experience. It can and does also apply to processing which is in your interests too. Processing for our legitimate interests may include processing for the purposes of (i) fraud prevention and compliance; (ii) certain direct marketing and promotional activities; (iii) the provision and operation of referral marketing programmes; (iv) network and information systems security; (v) data analytics; (vi) enhancing, modifying or improving our service; (vii) identifying usage trends; or (viii) determining the effectiveness of promotional campaigns or advertising. In connection with the above activities, we may share your personal information with trusted suppliers who assist us in our data processing activities. Our legitimate business interests do not automatically override your interests - we will not use your personal data for activities where our interests are overridden by the impact on you (unless we have your consent or are otherwise required or permitted by law). We also use Verified by Visa, Mastercard® Securecode™ and services to ensure your payment information is as secure as possible. These services help protect your card against fraudulent use online. If you forget your Verified by Visa or Mastercard® Securecode™ passwords, you will have to contact the service providers directly, as this is not information that is available to us.
