All the teapigs have been blogging about the 10 best things about where they grew up and here’s mine – 10 things I love about the South Hams!
- Yarmer beach, Thurlestone – this is where I spent EVERY day of the school summer holidays until I was about 14, we’d take breakfast, lunch and often dinner, my brother and I would pretty much spend most of the day in the sea or rock pooling – very happy memories!
- South Milton Sands – my favourite National Trust spot! It also has a really cute little beach shack restaurant called the Beach House which does the best breakfast, lunch or evening meal with the most amazing view!
- My friends and family! – they make me VERY happy!
- The Crabshell – the best pub/restaurant in Kingsbridge, you can spend the afternoon watching the boats go up and down the estuary, then the evening on their roof terrace with a glass of Pimms and one of their amazing wood fired pizzas!
- Kingsbridge Fair Week – this is a week that runs every July with fun events for all ages, spot the odd object competition, a raft race and lots of live music – this year the line-up includes two of my favourite bands; The Red Bullets and Land of the Giants!
- Bantham Beach – the best beach to watch the sun going down, as it sets over Burgh Island – beautiful!
- Fields, farms and coastline – so many walks with varied and stunning views, this makes me very appreciative of where I grew up!
- Café Alf Fresco, Dartmouth - because it does the best brunch, often accompanied by live music and its one of the only places which I can go for my matcha fix when I’m at home.
- Dartmoor – is on our doorstep, hundreds of walks, numerous picnic spots with panoramic views of Devon, hide and seek on the Tors and letterboxing.
- The Winking Prawn, Salcombe – a really nice food spot on North Sands beach, does a yummy BBQ and has a huge dressing up chest! – lots of fun!
