I grew up in Worcestershire, a wonderful county nestled between Wales and Birmingham. Here’s why I love it…

1.  The gorgeous green rolling countryside – one of the prettiest places I know but not great for cycling!

2.  Witley Court and Gardens – once one of England’s finest homes – now spectacular ruins and well worth a visit. It hosts Britain’s finest Baroque church which has gold leaf plating on the inside, it’s amazing.

3. The Malvern Hills – home to the Queen’s choice of spring water and my place of education for 7 years

4.  Elgar – the great British composer famous for Nimrod lived in Worcestershire – his grand-daughter taught me Biology at school!

5.  Worcestershire Sauce – the versatile condiment!

6. Tudor buildings – I love black and white half-timbered Tudor houses. My family home is like this and over 400 years old!

7.  Worcester Cathedral – the centre point of the city

8. Worcester Warriors – our resident rugby team – currently 12th in the Aviva Premiership

9.  West Midlands Safari Park – one of the best in country, complete with white tigers!

10. Severn Valley Railway – one of the most popular heritage railways in the country
