Bustling Brentford came to a grinding halt on Sunday as Current European Champions and F.A. Cup holders Chelsea came to visit and left with red faces after having been given a run for their money by our local boys Brentford in this years 4th Round of the FA Cup.
The biggest crowd for 30 years and the first meeting of these West London neighbours for 63 years meant the town sniffed a cup upset with plenty of national press coverage as well..
The game was live on the telly and the pundits were spotted looking rather cold as a bracing wind blew in from South Ealing. Looks like they are in need of a hot cup of tea.
To the surprise of everyone, including the Chelsea players, the Bees took the lead twice in the game but Chelsea managed to level things up just before the end to ensure that the Bess at least get another bite of the cherry in 3 weeks time and also a handsome payday to boot.
In the last year it should be noted that the Moneybags men fron Sw7 have beaten both mighty Barcelona and Bayern Munich but could only draw against Brentford!
