This month we're celebrating Random Acts of Kindness day! We're encouraging everyone to get involved and make a little time for each other - whether that's your partner, your friends, your colleagues, or even a stranger. Here are some of the things we'll be doing to help spread the love - we hope it inspires you to do the same, too!
organise a (virtual) tea round
Now, we may be a little biased here, but tea rounds have long been our favourite points of the day. With more of us working from home, why not take it online? Pop in a meeting with your colleagues - we recommend those who you maybe haven't spoken to in a while, doesn't everyone have that one chum from a different department they only really saw in the kitchen? Work talk is off limits - unless the gossip is particularly juicy - and spend 15 minutes sharing in some fun.
share some good news
You might be feeling like the world is all gloom at the moment (thanks, doomscrolling) - but there's plenty of joy to be had! Whether you've had something good happen to you personally, or you're celebrating the good news of others, or even just sharing a video of a doggo seeing his owner come home from the army (stop it - the waterworks are coming), we owe to each other to remember there is still good in the world and that we will get through this together. Pick up the phone, post on your social medias - just get connecting.
go plogging
Yes, that's right - this one involves going outside! Plogging, for those of you who don't know, is the combination of jogging & picking up litter - it's not glamorous, but you'll feel amazing knowing you helped your little corner of the world be a bit better today. Make your daily exercise not only good for you, but for the planet too! Plus, you can do this socially distanced with a friend. Winner!
pick up a chore
We'll be honest, this one always feels like a bit of a slog until you get started. As we've all adapted to being at home more, we've fallen into natural rhythms and routines. This can be draining, and a little dull - so why not spread the kindness with those living with you? Pick up someone else's common chore - whether that's as simple as making the bed, or unloading the dishwasher, or giving the bathtub a good scrub. Helping out those we love with little gestures truly is a wonderful feeling.
be kind to yourself
Yes, you! Kindness starts at home - if you don't take care of yourself, you can't take care of others. Carve out a little time in your day to do something you love, whether it's curling up on the sofa with your favourite brew and a good book, soaking in a bubble bath, or any other acts of self care - you deserve it!
